I looked up the order Blessed Mary of Providence created - The Society of Helpers of the Holy Souls. They are now called the Society of Helpers and it doesn't look like praying for the holy souls is included in their current mission. I looked at the branch in the US only though. Are there any Catholic religious orders who include praying for those in purgatory as a major part of their mission? The closest I found was the Confraternity of the Immaculate Conception (Blue Scapular). I have read on the Divine Mercy website about the intervention of Stella Maris - The Virgin Mary as Our Lady, Star of the Sea in giving comfort to the souls in purgatory. I often ask for her intervention for the souls in purgatory. I have also come across stories of Saint Nicholas of Tolentino. I have asked for his prayers as well.

I was a sister for 13 years. I had lots of health problems. Still do. I ended up leaving and being dispensed of vows bc everytime I visited a new community I’d get sick. However there were Solemn Professed nuns who had health issues and they stayed In religious life. Not sure why it was determined I couldn’t stay. My biggest suffering is wishing I stayed and persevered and resisted those telling me I should leave.

Our Lord Jesus Christ told St. Gemma Galgani to offer whatever suffering we may experience, even the slightest discomfort, for the relief of the souls in Purgatory. We must offer everything for them. There is no little pain. Every one counts.

I was in seminary for five years. Since leaving I have had no direction and no will to live. Why won't God just let me die already? It's been ten years. I have no career, no love and the only thing left for me is death.

Thank you for your honesty. I struggled mentally and i believe it was partially spiritual as well. I was attacked by a demon that tried to possess me and my family is a witness to it. I remember in my anew journey with Jesus in 2020, I broke down crying over a 10 $ parking ticket at my apartment lot. That’s how weak my mental health was. I sat on my floor broken and I said to Jesus I don’t know what to do. Jesus told me “one step at a time.” Then during this season, Bright purple/white blue spots would appear to direct me out of the pitiful moments my mental state put me in because of my brokenness. Now 2024- I’m finally home in the Catholic Church. I want to be confirmed. Also my mental state is top notch as far as little and big, spiritual and situational things don’t break me like they use to. This is the work of God. I tried therapy for a little bit but my therapist told me that I needed to be confident in my decision making and I stopped going because I knew that only God could heal me. Through his Word and Spirit. He’s been a gentle loving refuge for me.
